How to care for your lawn properly
Scarifying and Lawnraking
In addition to regular mulching, lawns should always be scarified in the spring and autumn in order to give them enough "air to breathe". In this process, the steel blades of the scarifier plunge into the turf and thoroughly remove thatch, moss and plant residues. Following scarifying, the treated areas should be fertilised directly and given a really good watering. Furthermore, it is also recommended for the lawn to be raked from time to time during spring and summer months. This involves steel spring tines loosening the sward to allow more water, light and nutrients to reach the roots.
Tip
If necessary, apply a special moss suppression product to your lawn before scarifying. After scarifying, the lawn should be watered and fertilised well.
Mulching

Mulching Process
Mulching cuts the grass into very fine clippings which are then returned back into the lawn, giving a natural nitrogen boost which leaves the lawn looking green and healthy. The other benefit of mulching is eliminating the need for emptying the grass collector, which can save up to one-third of the cutting time.

How To Mulch
With AL-KO lawnmowers with 3INONE or 4INONE function, just insert the supplied mulch plug to finely cut grass clippings into a nitrogen-rich mulch, which is returned to the lawn as a natural fertilizer. AL-KO also offer a choice of dedicated mulch mowers, for the optimal mulching performance and finish.
